Shortly after you open the pantry and peer into the fridge, you realize you’re unquestionably having that banana bread for breakfast. There is no halting you. You’re craving it Today.

That was my scenario a week ago and it ended beside me enjoying two thick slices with peanut butter on top. Plus a few refreshing strawberries, chia seed products and huge chunks of dark chocolate. Because antioxidants, right?

Today’s banana bread comes to you with an excellent new flour I discovered: Chickpea flour! Or also known as Garbanzo Bean flour. It noises weird, but suspend beside me for an instant while I explain…

So I’ve been wanting to experiment with chickpea flour for several reasons: It’s inexpensive, nutritious, packed with fiber and proteins & naturally gluten free. Each portion of chickpea flour packs an impressive 6g of protein and 5g fiber. SAY WHAT? It’s actually a proteins goddess. You’d also end up being surprised to hear the fact that flour is normally slightly sweet as well, which means that it was easy to cut back on the sweeteners within the recipe.

So where is it possible to buy chickpea flour? Sadly it can be a little difficult to find unless you have a wellness foods store in your area or a supermarket with a good gluten free section. You can also buy it on the web here

The good news is that chickpea flour isn’t tough to make yourself, it’s simply ground up dried chickpeas that are pulsed into a fine powder with the hard pieces sifted out. I’ve haven’t tried the DIY edition yet, but wish to!

Here are some facts about these little health powerhouses:

Pulses are one of the most cost-effective proteins around and have a tendency to be very affordable.

I heart pulses x a million. (Also a fun fact.)

We made this breads and brought it to one of the best fitness trainers, but didn’t simply tell him it was made with chickpea flour. He said the loaf of bread was amazing!

Tony also ate several pieces with peanut butter at the top for dessert. He LOVED it and confirmed it tasted the same as regular banana loaf of bread. Having a boyfriend who will try anything is actually a blessing.

Chickpea Flour Banana Bread (gluten free of charge!)

Ingredients

3 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

1 1/2 cups chickpea flour (garbanzo bean flour)

1 teaspoon cooking soda

1 cup blueberries

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Range an 8×4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and aerosol with nonstick cooking food spray.

In a moderate bowl, whisk together chickpea flour, baking soda pop, cinnamon and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine bananas, honey, vanilla extract, eggs, coconut oil and apple cider vinegar; combine until well combined and creamy. Add dry ingredients to moist ingredients and blend until just combined. Fold in any from the optional add-ins to generate your own edition of this delicious loaf of bread. I highly recommend nuts & delicious chocolate chips.

Pour batter into ready pan and even best. Bake for 40-50 moments or until tester inserted into center arrives clean. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool for ten minutes, then cautiously invert, remove loaf of bread from pan and place back again on wire rack to cool totally. Cut into 12 slices.

Nutrition information is dependant on banana loaf of bread only, without additional increase ins.

You can even bake this into muffins, adjust the baking time to 20-24 minutes.

I just made your paleo coconut flour banana loaf of bread on Mon and I only have one slice left. O_O oops! It’s So excellent.

We made it today! I had formed promised baking to the three yr old, then uncovered we were from all-purpose flour. We had chickpea flour readily available, which explains why I googled and ended up here. We produced mini muffins, and ate half of them straight from the oven.

I actually actually remember my mother food preparation a chickpea flour dessert and assumed this might resemble that. It didn’t. Simply basic delicious banana breads.
