This last weekend was tough! I had been in the midst of a juice cleanse and could not stop considering how much I wanted a salad how big is my face. Or grilled seafood with a glass of wine accompanied by some Fro Yo with major amounts of sprinkles and pink-frosted pet crackers.

Then to create matters worse, I watched THE MEALS Network again. These were playing Crimson Lobster advertisements which nearly caused me to drool on myself. I assume you could state my cravings were pretty ridiculous; then again it was most likely my own fault for viewing Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.
There is good news though: I truly feel incredible and since I enjoy sharing my discoveries along with you, I journaled my experience with the cleanse. I plan on publishing it sometime this week. Perhaps it will motivate you, too!
Okay plenty of chatting, can we reach the muffins?
I actually baked these your day before We started juicing and they were completely great tasting, moist, and filling up. Plus they’re heart-healthy and I’ve kept calories in check by adding the following:
Applesauce: We replaced the usual oil within the muffins with applesauce, which helps continues them moist and gives them handful of sweetness with out a ton of added sugars. I absolutely love the texture of the!
Almond Milk: I love baking with almond milk because it adds handful of fat to your muffins without adding calorie consumption. It is also generally fuller in persistence vs regular milk and keeps muffins moist!
Oatmeal: There’s oatmeal both in and on top of the muffin; it gives it an oaty taste and also provides fiber and proteins.
WHOLE WHEAT GRAINS Pastry Flour: We opted to utilize whole wheat pastry flour seeing that it’s a lot lighter than regular whole wheat grains. It can help the muffins from turning dense. You can even use regular flour or all-purpose gluten-free!
Cinnamon: Applesauce and cinnamon compliment one another perfectly and increase great taste! Oh and did you know that studies have shown that cinnamon helps to regular blood sugar levels? Win!
Walnuts: They’re are high in Omega-3 and good fats, thus they’ll help with keeping you full all morning long. Remeber not to be afraid of the nice fats!
Blueberries: A super fruit full of antioxidants and absolutely gorgeous in muffins. These are filled with juicy blueberries that burst in your mouth!
My favorite component (aside from the juicy blueberries) is the walnut-oat streusel; it’s a little bit crunchy and lovely. I LOVE that each muffin is only 172 healthy calorie consumption and packs 5g of proteins; believe me, they’re filling up! Oh and theses babies are also freezer-friendly in order to grab one, reheat, and proceed!
We ate mine warm and pass on with almond butter along with a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!
Oatmeal Blueberry Applesauce Muffins with Walnut Oat Streusel

3/4 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon cooking powder

1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/4 cup blueberries
1/2 cup cut walnuts
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions

In a big dish combine flour, oats, baking natural powder, baking soda pop, cinnamon and salt; set aside.

The Peanut Butter Glass Banana Bread can no longer be made into french toast for breakfast. Tragic!
Now that the holiday season are almost over, we’ve got to obtain our skinny on. Let’s get obsessed with oats, nut products, and fruit!
Granola may be the picture of wellness, right?
Before we put our skinny jeans on, let’s laugh over Christmas stories.
So on Xmas eve, I drank rich red wine with my family and baked a pie in my fresh horse mystic night-shirt. We sang songs from the Audio of Music and ate way too much apple & pear pie. We’re totally odd and I really like it.
Singing songs and cooking pies in horse night tops… Whatever!
On a serious note: Christmas morning hours got even better when my Grandma gave me a hummingbird pin. She’s super cute. Another focus on? Making banana breads into french toast! Like.
My cycling trainer informed me the next thing to anticipate is bikini season… I cannot decide if that is thrilling or completely scary.
Before I realize it I’ll be drinking margaritas, painting my toes pink, and making strawberry shortcake. I have to get summer out of my mind for a bit though.
We have to put our healthy pants on!
The only thing I could suggest is eating butterless breakfasts and forgetting the top cinema popcorn.
I actually made us something to start off our day best. It’s got whole grains, fruits, yogurt, and nut products. Fruits and yogurt granola parfaits!
Maple syrup and apple sauce make this granola sugary without adding extra glucose. Pecans and almonds maintain it crunchy and nutty.
We also added a little bit of coconut at the top which became a toasted golden dark brown when baked. Great tasting.
Granola party!
McDonald’s fruit and yogurt parfait has nothing on these. Make sure you say goodbye to sugar overloaded cereal from your grocery store.
This granola is skinny!
Make it your own. Add toppings of your decision like pumpkin seed products, white delicious chocolate, and dried blueberries or apples.
Pile it right into a glass and layer with greek yogurt and fruits. Absolutely healthy.
3 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
bananas or other fruit of choice
To create granola:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Series a cooking sheet with parchment paper.
In a big bowl, mix together oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and sodium. Add cranberries, raisins, pecans and almonds to dish. Stir to combine.
In a medium bowl, whisk together maple syrup, vanilla, pumpkin and apple sauce until well combined.
Add moist ingredients to dried out ingredients and stir until equally coated. Spread granola in a slim layer over cooking sheet. Sprinkle coconut at the top.
To create parfaits:
Cut 1 banana and reserve. Place 1/2 glass of greek yogurt in glass. Best yogurt with 1/4 cup of granola. Add a handful of banana slices. Place another 1/4 glass granola on top of bananas. Put in a tablespoon or two of yogurt together with granola. Sprinkle a bit more granola at the top and add even more bananas. Drizzle honey at the top if desired.
Repeat for every parfait you intend to make.
Store granola in airtight box.
Enjoy your brand-new favorite breakfast!

Hello and welcome to stressville. Our house offer was accepted this weekend and we’re in the midst of coordinating inspections, lawyer charges and contracts. I’m really excited though and for the most part I’ve been handling it like I normally would aka baking all the things and forgetting all about my real world responsibilities.

Anyway, while I’m off in la la property (and possibly taking a couple of days faraway from blogging), I needed to offer a recipe for HEALTHY fudge. It’s true, dreamy and in addition tastes just like the real deal. Plus just 4 ingredients are participating!
Tell me: Have you ever had a dreamy healthy fudge before?
I’m uncertain if you remember, but this past year I made an incredible wedding cake batter fudge made with cashew butter, coconut butter and a few other scrumptious points. It was fundamentally my go to dessert all summer season because it just took a few momemts to make… and devour.
So a couple of things about this recipe:
You will need coconut butter! This is what really helps to make the fudge solidify when in the freezer. I am using this coconut butter lately and it’s ridiculously great. Tony loves this version and spreads it on everything around the corner. Either brand will work. Another option is you could make your very own – here’s how !
I love that this recipe literally will take 5 minutes to make, then you’ll just stick it in the freezer until the fudge hardens a little – usually this only requires about 10-15 short minutes. Then increase! Dessert is offered. A low sugars, high-protein treat that you will want to make weekly. Promise.
Nom. Nom. Nom. Nom. Nom. Nom.
Kinda want to lick the display right now, don’t you?
4-Component Chocolate & Peanut Butter Freezer Fudge (vegan & gluten free of charge!)
Recipe type: Gluten Free of charge, Paleo, Grain Free of charge, Dessert, Healthy, Vegan, Dairy products Free
Prep time:
10 mins
Total period:
10 mins
Ingredients
1/2 cup creamy or crunchy drippy peanut butter
1/3 cup coconut butter
For the delicious chocolate layer:
1/3 cup coconut butter
Optional: Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling at the top
Instructions
Line an 8×4 inches loaf pan with parchment paper (this makes it easy to eliminate the fudge through the pan later).
To help make the peanut butter layer: Within a medium dish mix jointly peanut butter, coconut butter and maple syrup. Combine until smooth.
To make the chocolate layer: Within a medium bowl, blend collectively peanut butter, coconut butter, cocoa natural powder and maple syrup. Combine until easy and combined.
Add the chocolate fudge level towards the loaf pan and spread evenly for the sides. Tap the pan on the counter a few times to obtain any atmosphere bubbles out and also to help distribute the coating evenly.
Next insert the peanut butter layer on top. Use a plastic spatula to softly spread on the chocolates layer on the edges of the pan, being careful never to mix them. It is possible to sprinkle sea sodium on top if your PB doesn’t contain salt. I really like the nice and Place in freezer for 10-15 a few minutes or until the fudge hardens.
After the fudge has hardened, remove through the pan and allow to sit at room temperature for five minutes before cutting into squares. Usually do not omit at room temperature for a lot more than 10-15 a few minutes at the same time.
How to properly store fudge: Place cut squares within a Ziploc bag or plastic container and freeze for up to 3 months.
You need to work with a peanut butter made out of only peanuts and salt here, or an all-natural brand without additional additives.
Any nut butter should function to use as a replacement for the peanut butter. Although, it is best to work with a drippy version.
I use a shop bought coconut butter made out of only shredded coconuts. Find above within the paragraph for my recommended brands!

WELCOME to the start of what I’m calling The Chicago Series, an Ambitious Kitchen direct to the absolute best areas for meals & engaging in Chicago! This 1st guide came about due to my unprecedented love for donuts, coupled with a crazy great low crucial donut scene in Chicago.

Low Carb\/Keto Chocolate Peanut Butter No Bake CookiesEver since moving here nearly two years ago, I’ve been extremely impressed with the quantity of delicious donut shops. Each place focusing on their own take, from extra fat and yeasty to traditional old fashioned with a twist. What could possibly be better than beginning the day using a donut, a sit down elsewhere and a feeling of adventure? Not much.
A couple weeks ago, I decided to have a look at recommend donut shops around Chicago with my assistant Rose. We strolled, we ate, we spoken and lastly we conquered the donuts.
So without further ado, here are the best donut shop picks + any must know strategies for your donut adventures here. They are in no particular purchase.
Stan’s Donuts
Stan’s Donuts originated in Los Angeles, and has only showed up over the Chicago donut scene a few years ago. Regardless, they continue steadily to open new places and rarely run out of donuts unlike additional shops in the city. The great perk about Stan’s isn’t just you could actually sit down at any time of day and revel in a donut and espresso, it’s also they have countless donut options available that make selecting one nearly impossible. The decor is certainly spot on too, with pastel KitchenAid mixers on screen to make the interior extra Instagram-friendly.
Best donuts in Stan’s: Nutella pocket (!!!!), blueberry traditional, dreamsicle and their various fun seasonal tastes.
Guidelines: Stan’s is great if you are craving a donut midday or have to have an instant business meeting. There’s space to sit down plus they also provide bagels and gelato.
Doughnut Vault
Doughnut Vault can be an total must should anyone ever find yourself in Chicago (or live here!) as it’s pretty legendary. It’s a store how big is a wardrobe that markets donuts just until they sell out every day – which often occurs by 10:30am. The donuts (or doughnuts) will be the size of your face and so are glazed with the utmost excellence. The vanilla bean glazed donut was both a favorite for Rose and I; we held repeating that we could 100% eat another.
Best donuts at Doughnut Vault: Vanilla glazed, delicious chocolate glazed, chestnut, donut of your day
Suggestions: Doughnut Vault sells out FAST and occasionally there’s a line. Your very best bet would be to go as early as it is possible to, especially if you need typically the most popular donuts. Also, when it’s nice they actually provide a little seating section outside. Otherwise plan on taking your donuts to go!
Location: Just click here to find out their locations The also have a food truck out 7 days a week which only serves old fashioned donuts. Have a look at their Twitter feed @doughnutvault using #VaultVan for updated locations.
Do-Rite Donuts
Do-Rite Donuts is another Chicago staple. Their donuts are made in small batches therefore they’re generally warm and new, and they have amazing gluten-free and vegan options every day. Should you be someone who adores old fashioned type donuts, after that this place is definitely for you. Similar to various other donut shops around the city, they are able to sell out of the popular and gluten free of charge options quickly, so your greatest bet is to either order online in advance or arrive early!
Best donuts at Carry out Rite: Buttermilk old fashioned, chocolate old-fashioned, carrot wedding cake, pistachio lemon
Tips: Get here early, particularly if you’re looking for a gluten free and/or vegan donut! You can also order online here
Location: Click here to see their locations One of them serves chicken breast sandwiches, which just so happen to be some of the best in the city.
Dinkel’s Bakery
Dinkel’s Bakery is located in Roscoe Village and also have been cranking out donuts for many years. When you initially enter their giant shop, you’re really not sure what to anticipate as most from the bakery is usually full of cakes, cookies along with other delectable goodies. Then you arranged your eyes upon a wall of fresh donuts and you know it’s going to be a really good day. A few favorite reasons for having Dinkel’s would be that the donuts are extremely cheap (but still delicious), perfectly fried and there’s space to sit down and revel in a donut or two. Their donuts remind me of my years as a child.
Best donuts in Dinkel’s: Sour cream traditional and the basic glazed
Tips: Ideal for getting donuts for function because their so inexpensive
Firecakes Donuts
Firecakes Donuts was among Rose’s go-to donut shops and ended up being one of my favorites. I’m not sure if it’s just underrated in the web community or what, but these donuts are INCREDIBLE. The flavors! The texture! The stunning decorating! I cannot even. What’s exclusive about Firecakes would be that the donuts all can be found in different shapes and sizes and the tastes are incredible unique. We were therefore impressed with their offering that we had trouble choosing half a dozen, due to the fact we wanted to try them all! Rose and I both keep a strong belief the fact that vanilla iced donut may be the greatest donut of all time.
Best donuts at Firecakes: Vanilla Iced, butterscotch praline, peanut butter glass, and classic jelly
Tips: They have a donut ice cream sandwich as well as a giant birthday wedding cake donut!
Glazed and Infused
Glazed and Infused can be an interesting donut shop filled with crazy flavors, textures and colours. Their donuts are generally changing and most likely are among the better Instagrammable donuts in the city. There are many locations around the city, which is ideal for when you are looking for a donut.
Best donuts in Glazed and Infused: Maple bacon lengthy john, any of the ones covered in sprinkles
Guidelines: This place does delivery, in-store parties and catering thus check it out if you love donuts that much!
If we HAD to pick a popular donut place: Firecakes would be the champion, but they’re all amazing!

I don’t even experience guilty approximately getting delicious chocolate wasted with these bad boys.
I had found out about dark bean brownies before, so I am experimenting for a few weeks with various meals and developed this to shock and delight you.
After baking these, I stood presently there smiling with chocolate all over my face because I put finally perfected a recipe for fudgy healthy brownies that taste AMAZING. Yeah, alright I understand you’re doubting me right now. You might also think I’m super weird (that i totally am).
But is it possible to just trust me upon this one?
Seriously I made the brownies 2 hours ago and there’s only 1 left. It’s taking all of my willpower for that brownie not saying hello to my mouth area. I’m still in awe; how do brownies made out of black beans and avocado be THIS freaking great?!
I also tricked my Godkids into thinking these were the homemade fudgy, buttery brownies. WHILE I told them they were made with black coffee beans, and avocado, they stared at me and told me I was resting. I simply laughed and demonstrated them the empty can of dark beans.
Bake these! I guarantee they’ll surprise you in an exceedingly good way.
Alright. I have to devour the last one.

Place all substances besides chocolate chips into blender or meals processor. Procedure or puree until substances form a even batter. When the batter is definitely WAY too solid and won’t procedure then add a teaspoon or two of water. This batter must be very thick in order to generate fudgy brownies. Add in 1/3 cup chocolates chips and collapse into batter.
Pour batter into prepared skillet, sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of staying chocolate chips. You can even fold in nut products or swirl in peanut butter. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out relatively clean and the surface of the brownies begin to crack.
Cool pan completely on wire rack then trim into 12 delicious squares.
TO MAKE VEGAN: Use vegan chocolates chip and sub a flax egg for the egg and egg whites.
These brownies are best once they have cooled. I in fact prefer mine frosty out of the refrigerator – they’re amazing!
Hey Our Small Organic Life
How much squash did you utilize? I had been thinking or attempting them with pumpkin instead (I am going a bit crazy this year )
I’m convinced that maybe it is not a food processor… I started looking on amazon to check out images and my unit looks nearly the same as that one: -Beach-72600-Fresh-Chopper/dp/B0007KQZX4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1359268668&sr=8-9&keywords=hamilton+beach+food+processor
If I don’t have a food processor, is there a brand that you’ll recommend. I would really LOVE to get these brownies without the floating skins.
Amy Miller
Hope you have become well.
I actually tried your formula and the brownies were amazing! One of the better that I’ve ever had!
I have a question: if I wanted to get this to formula vegan, what may i replace the eggs with?
Have a happy and lovely time,
Have an excellent day,Vivi
Hello!
My batch happens to be in the over at this time! I licked the bowl and food processor chip…..OMG you are a classic genius!!
I can’t wait!
I have one question for you , is the calorie count number for regular dark brown sugars or the splenda mix???
Rachel
My initial batch of the was pretty tasty, I believe using a riper avocado the next time will improve some things.
My main query is I’m going to start food preparation up dried black beans rather than using canned, and didn’t know should anyone ever do this yourself for some of your sugary recipes? I’ve examine lots of tips for what flavoring to cook coffee beans in, but all of them are to get into dinner recipes rather than desserts. Any recommendations?
For the non-health food eaters: as healthy delicious chocolate bars, these are good! They’re not regular brownies – if I hadn’t expected these to taste like brownies, I believe I would have already been happier with the final product!
When I make sure they are again, I’ll purée the coffee beans first (my brownies have little flakes of bean pores and skin inside them) and perhaps add some coconut or peanut butter. To me, these taste best when combined with something else (e.g. placed directly under ice cream, topped with peanut butter)
I actually made these brownies tonight. These were really good. WHEN I was making them, I informed my boyfriend to remain from the kitchen because I didn’t need him to find out what they’re made out of (he’s kind of a picky eater). ONCE I offered him a piece, he said he would need more – he treasured it! After I informed him what they were made out of, he was really surprised. That didn’t stop him from keeping eating haha. Plus he stated it was an added bonus for him – even more protein! As far as the persistence of my brownies – they were not gooey/fudgy in any way. I utilized a banana rather than an a avocado because three grocery stores did not possess a ripe avocado! Added even more coconut oil since I didn’t have the oil from your avocado. But nonetheless not really fudgy. I also used agave instead of sugar – just to make it a tad healthier.
With all that said – have you any idea what it really is that makes the brownies to have that gooey/fudgy consistency??
Ps: We tried to price the recipe nonetheless it didn’t let me select the stars! I give it 4.5!
Very good brownies…and a nice and healthful treat toi.
Definitely a keeper !
